Preparation
Looking for an easy takeaway recipe for you and your family? This Chinese salt and pepper chicken would give your usual takeaway a run for its money. Served with boiled rice - although you could easily change this to Egg Fried Rice (we have the recipe under or chicken curry section) and Goldfish curry sauce it is a meal even the little ones will love!
The amount of the Salt and Pepper seasoning you add is entirely up to yourself and to make more just add more chicken and veg!
Equipment
- Wok
Method
- Cut your chicken into bite size pieces
- Do the same with your peppers and spring onions (put these in separate bowls)
- Add oil to your wok, heat your wok to a medium heat - you don't want the oil too hot or it will burn.
- Coat your chicken in cornflour and season with salt and pepper
- Add your chicken (Important: if you have added more chicken then you may need to cook in 2 or 3 batches - don't over fill your wok)
- Cook your chicken until crispy and golden (takes around 10-15 minutes, turning as you see fit)
- Just before you are ready to serve turn the heat to high - add your peppers and onions, and your salt and pepper seasoning - keep everything moving as much as possible for a couple of minutes.
